There’s nothing better than a party that starts with a surprise and ends with shaken cocktails and big smiles. That’s exactly what happened at a stunning private home in Shoreham-by-Sea, UK, where we were invited to host our signature cocktail-making experience — “Laugh, Shake & Drink It!”
The occasion? A surprise birthday bash planned to perfection. The vibe? Fun, intimate, and full of personality. Our mixologist Jon Ale led the activity, transforming a regular evening into a hands-on mixology adventure filled with laughter, stories, and delicious drinks.
The Cocktail Experience
As guests gathered, not quite knowing what to expect, Jon set the tone with a warm welcome — and then, the cocktail magic began.
Over the course of the session, each guest was guided to shake, stir, and sip their way through five carefully selected cocktails. For every drink, Jon shared a bit of its history, quirky facts, and tips on mastering techniques like the perfect shake or the art of balancing sweetness and acidity.
Here’s what was on the menu for the night:
🍹 Ibizan Sunset Spritz
A twist on the classic Aperol Spritz
Zesty blood orange soda, floral hibiscus syrup, and a blush of rosé prosecco made this cocktail the perfect way to kick off the class. Refreshing, light, and bursting with sunshine — it truly tasted like a sunset in Ibiza.

🍸 Silk Road Martinez
Exotic elegance in a glass
With vodka, lychee liqueur, yuzu, and apple juice, this cocktail invited everyone on a flavour journey. Finished with delicate red drops and served in a coupe glass, it was a visual and sensory treat.

💋 Flirtini
The star of the night — and a little flirt on the side
A sultry remix of the Porn Star Martini, made with vanilla vodka, Passoa, passionfruit purée, and a splash of mango juice. The signature? A passionfruit smoke bubble garnish that turned heads and cameras.

☕ Espresso Martini
Classic. Bold. Energising.
Vodka, Kahlua, and freshly brewed espresso shaken to perfection. Creamy, foamy, and just what the evening needed for a second wind.

🍋 Margarita
Because every party deserves a Margarita moment
With freshly squeezed lime, agave syrup, and a crisp tequila base, this classic was taught with flair — and a few cheeky tips for that perfect salted rim.

From Masterclass to Full Party Mode
As the class wrapped up, the energy was still high — and the birthday guests weren’t ready to end the fun. So, we did what we do best: turned the masterclass into a private open bar.
Our team stayed for four additional hours, serving bespoke cocktails, wines, and spirits while the celebration turned into a true luxury event. Laughter echoed through the garden, music played into the night, and guests kept raising glasses for more.
